he Physician Assistant Advisory Committee, which falls under the supervision of the State Board of Medical Examiners, is responsible for the regulation of physician assistants. New Jersey Prescription Blanks (NJPBs) Notice of Final Extension

The Division of Consumer Affairs (Division) is granting a final extension through November 2, 2014 for prescribers to issue prescriptions on the old prescription blanks (blue on the front).  Effective November 3, 2014, all prescriptions must be issued only on the new prescription blanks (green on the front).

This additional 45 days is to assist those who are experiencing delays in obtaining the new prescription blanks.  If you have already received your new prescription blanks, you should use them immediately.  The new prescription blanks are being accepted by pharmacies.

If you have not already placed your orders for new prescription blanks, do so immediately.  Do not delay; order your new prescription blanks today. A list of approved printer vendors and information about the new prescription blanks are available on the Division's website at

Notification of the Rescheduling of Hydrocodone
Effective October 6, 2014, all Hydrocodone Combination Products are rescheduled as a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) in the State of New Jersey based on the recent federal Drug Enforcement Agency (“DEA”) Final Rule. Please read the following information which outlines the limitations of a Schedule II CDS medication prescription.
